HT SESSIONS GIVEN AT ANNUAL THOMPSON CANCER  SURVIVAL RETREAT

On April 20th, Mary Ann Geoffrey and Margaret Whitefield Lesch volunteered Healing Touch sessions for 10 women at the Thompson Cancer Survival Center Retreat held in Townsend, TN.

With a table set under the shade of a tree, Mary Ann and Margaret greeted each woman, relieving pain for some and simply providing comfort for others.  This was the first Healing Touch session for many women and they were pleased at the opportunity to experience this new modality.

The retreat weekend was to honor women who are survivors of cancer – many of breast cancer.  Manicures, pedicures, facials, massages and energy therapies were provided throughout the day.

This is an annual event and was the first time energy therapies had been included in the retreat schedule.  The coordinator was enthusiastic about including Healing Touch in future retreats.

Margaret said, “Sharing Healing Touch with these women was a very rewarding experience.  Mary Ann and I would encourage other practitioners to share their hearts by volunteering for this endeavor in the future.  Spreading the word…..”

     NEW HEALING TOUCH DVD

The new Healing Touch DVD was shown at the May 31st HTET meeting and was viewed with much enthusiasm.  The DVD is a fantastic marketing tool for HT practitioners. In layman’s terms, the video explains the following:

          *What is Healing Touch?

          *Scientific Support for H.T.

          *The Effects of H.T.

          *How Healing Touch Changes Lives

          *Hospital Integration of H.T.

          *Healing Touch Beginnings

          *Healing Touch Impacting the World.

          *The Vision of Healing Touch

If you would like to own a copy of the DVD you can order it at: http://www.healingtouchprogram.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=50

 H. T. ADVANCED CLASSES

The Healing Touch Program has released a schedule for upcoming advanced practice classes for those practitioners who would like to continue on after level 5.  Among other places, some of the classes are being offered in Hawaii (which, from personal experience, I whole-heartedly endorse as a great place to learn).  The schedule can be found at www.HealingTouchProgram.com

A schedule of Levels 1-5 workshops can also be found at this site.

HTET MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Margaret Whitefield Lesch is the owner of IN GOOD HANDS ENERGY HEALING CENTER, where she is an energy therapy practitioner and workshop coordinator.  Margaret is a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner and has also immersed herself in various other studies of energy medicine. She has studied with Rev. Rosalyn Bruyere, the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, Holos University, the Healing Touch for Health Care Professionals and Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry programs. She is a valuable member of HTET and a real asset to our H.T. community.

Like many of us, Margaret has a poignant story of beginning her journey into H.T. The following is an excerpt from her article on healing touch in the April 2007 edition of EVAMAG, a local women’s magazine:

We often find assurance in knowing that behind every cloud is a silver lining, but when your husband is diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, as mine was a few years ago, you may be hard-pressed to find it.  The silver lining behind our cloud changed our lives forever.

Prior to 2001, energy healing was a foreign concept to me.  Through our cancer support group, I learned about Healing Touch, a bio-field therapy that has an energy-based approach to health and healing. A workshop was scheduled the next month and I was called to attend.  One evening following the workshop, I asked my husband if I could practice on him.  No longer than it took for me to slide one hand under his chest and place the other hand over his chest, we began to feel a pull—as if his body was a vacuum that needed filling.  He began to feel calm—filling with the Universal Life Energy, the essence of all life.  The next morning, he felt more energized than he had in months.

We are greatly saddened by the

news of the passing of Bettina Hansen on May 26, 2007.  Bettina was an active participant in our Healing Touch community as well as a beloved friend to all.   She will be greatly missed.

HOW TO RECOGNIZE A STROKE

The ASA (The American Stroke Association) recommends that the public familiarize itself instead with the following stroke warning signs and call 9-1-1 immediately if these symptoms appear:

  • Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
  • Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
  • Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
  • Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
  • Sudden, severe headache with no known cause

For more information on stroke symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, visit the Website of the The American Stroke Association.

“Miracles rest not so much upon healing power coming suddenly near us from afar, but upon our perceptions being made finer, so that for the moment our eyes can see and our ears can hear what has been there around us always”.
